Trioceros cristatus, a Further Established Species in Human Care
30/12/2024
Trioceros cristatus, a further established species in human care, originates from the lowland regions of Central Africa, including the offshore island of Bioko. Despite living in a warm tropical climate, it is important to understand that it inhabits the undergrowth of dense tropical forests and does not require high temperatures. In fact, temperatures not too much above 20°C are optimal for its survival. Thanks to the efforts of Belgian. Dutch and German herpetoculturists, this species is now well established in captivity and has thrived over several generations with proper care. Understanding its specific environmental needs is essential for ensuring its well-being in captive settings.
