Chameleon Skeletal Anatomy in Color and in microCT

Christopher Anderson in 2018: Here is a graphic I made for some ongoing work in my lab highlighting the different parts of the axial skeleton of chameleons. This is a volume rendering of a micro-CT scan of a male Kinyongia xenorhina. In it I've segmented out and color coded the different portions of the axial skeleton as a reference to its different components.

get inspired by Chris's work also in the case of Cranial anatomy of chameleons:

Christopher Anderson in 2018: Dorsal view of a microCT scan of a Brookesia perarmata. This scan is part of a larger project I am working on which involves gathering microCT scans of as much chameleon diversity as possible. I have now scanned 233 specimens from 155 species (+5 additional subspecies), including specimens from all 12 genera! That's 75% of all described chameleon species!
