Chameleon Stellar Nursery

The Chamaeleon Complex, including the Chamaeleon Cloud or IC 2631, is a captivating stellar nursery captured in a recent infrared image by the European Southern Observatory's VISTA telescope. IC 2631, a reflection nebula, reflects light from neighboring stars off dust clouds. Located 522 light-years away, this region showcases ongoing star formation processes. Such phenomena offer insight into the cosmic birth and evolution of stars. Advanced telescopes like VISTA enable deeper exploration of distant celestial objects, unraveling the mysteries of the universe and revealing the beauty and diversity of space.
