Chamaeleo calyptratus, Big Pine Key, USA

After flooding Florida mainland especially in the Miami and Fort Myers areas but as far North as Tampa in NW and Gainesville in the Central N, this chameleons made it to the "Keys", having been recorded from the Big Pine Key. The captured specimen was a female obviously gravid or after having laid eggs, so, a breeding population is to be probably expected in the future.
